Little Matthew made his arrival right before Christmas, after a looong labor for his first-time mommy! He finally did arrive safely to the relief of Sarah and Chris. Sarah is my co-worker, whose style I would describe as classic and “put-together”…and it was no different when I arrived for Matthew’s session. “Hold up–you just had a baby a week and a half ago?” You’ll notice Sarah’s style in the hand-painted artwork in Matthew’s bedroom, and the fact that we wrapped him up in one of Sarah’s many gorgeous scarves :) Enjoy viewing this cutie pie and his family!
November 21st, 2011-
A few weeks ago I met up with the Gossage family, and got to meet the adorable baby A.!
10.24.1011- I was reeeallly nervous about this shoot. You see, I shot this family’s portraits last year, and they were a big hit! One of my favorites of the year, and is still featured on my website! So, when Karen contacted me to do a shoot again this year, I felt a lot of pressure to live up to last year’s shoot!
We met up at Lafayette Square and I brought my mustaches. Not a new prop in the photography world but I found these awesome ones that are so much better than the typical felt/paper mustaches. And it helped the kids warm up a bit :)

Karen gets a photo shoot every year to remember how much her family is growing…everyone should do this!
I met Molly and Steve last year when they came to my Illinois mini-sessions. Molly was very pregnant for that session…and now they have the most beautiful baby girl!
Her pink sweater is way too sweet…
Sooo…I was about 20 minutes late for this session…got stuck in traffic because I scheduled a session at the City Garden an hour before Rams kickoff. VERY smart. You’d think with it being the last shoot of the year I’d have figured those things out by now :) Thank goodness this family is patient, and Greta goes with the flow…

Love me some mommy and daddy time…

Love me some mommy and daddy time…Favorite. You probably saw this on Facebook a few weeks ago…

That’s all! This was my last session of the year…still can’t believe it! I hope to get some time in the near future to update my website with all the fun portrait sessions and weddings that I was lucky enough to shoot this year…

That’s all! This was my last session of the year…still can’t believe it! I hope to get some time in the near future to update my website with all the fun portrait sessions and weddings that I was lucky enough to shoot this year…Stay tuned for Alison and Adam’s Wedding…who also earn the distinction of being my LAST wedding of 2010 :)
I’ve been so excited to post about this family session! Karen Hendrix is an extremely talented wedding/portrait photographer here in the StL. This year, she asked me to shoot her family portraits, and I about fell over. What an honor when someone you look up to asks you to capture their family! We headed out to Eckert’s last weekend and roamed around the orchard and pumpkin patch. Toward the end of the session we had the best light that I’ve seen all year!
I posted this photo as a teaser on my Facebook page as soon as I got home from the session last weekend. What a beautiful family photo!
It’s a refreshing change of pace when the kids you’re shooting are all old enough to follow directions. These kiddos did great!!!

Thanks for trusting me with your family portraits this year! I hope you love them!
