I’ve been so excited to post about this family session! Karen Hendrix is an extremely talented wedding/portrait photographer here in the StL. This year, she asked me to shoot her family portraits, and I about fell over. What an honor when someone you look up to asks you to capture their family! We headed out to Eckert’s last weekend and roamed around the orchard and pumpkin patch. Toward the end of the session we had the best light that I’ve seen all year!
I posted this photo as a teaser on my Facebook page as soon as I got home from the session last weekend. What a beautiful family photo!

It’s a refreshing change of pace when the kids you’re shooting are all old enough to follow directions. These kiddos did great!!!

Love it!

Grabbed a few of Karen and her hubby alone…moms and dads, this is always a great idea!

Even though it was nearing the end of the season, there were some great giant pumpkins left!

I love how Karen’s youngest son is looking to his big brother and sister, wondering what to do…
…and then he got it :)
Seriously, can you believe this light?
And ending with some true personality coming out :)
Thanks for trusting me with your family portraits this year! I hope you love them!

The Tuetken family hired me waaaaaay back when (well, it was only 2008, but what a difference 2 years can make!) It’s nice to see a family you haven’t seen in a long time, and see how the kids are growing up!
Here is a link to one of my fave photos ever, totally spontaneous by Alex: http://bethberrypictures.blogspot.com/2008/10/sneak-peek.html
We started out by the boat house in St. Charles…Alex was ready for his close-up, but Nik needed a bit of a warm-up…

There we got a bit of a smile! It’s funny, Nik wanted to hold my hand as we wandered through town, but when it came to smiling for the camera…no thanks!

Now THAT’s a brotherly photo!

Love this…

It was great seeing you guys again! Hopefully you were able to get some Doozle’s after the session :)
