I was contacted a while back by Sarah, who writes the Wedding Belles Blog. Her blog features beautiful Missouri weddings! I thought the wedding of Julie and Chris would be just perfect. Check it out!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Julie and Chris. Julie’s mom, Angie, booked me way back because Julie and Chris were living in New York City and couldn’t get home for a meeting. I was excited to meet Julie a few months ago, as she was sweet as could be, and couldn’t wait to see the couple finally together this weekend. Their day was filled with good friends, family, and some loving, quiet moments between them. They are one of those couples you can tell is all about each other on the wedding day.
We started out at the family home…
Her beautiful Justin Alexander dress was hanging in the foyer when we arrived…
My 2nd shooter, Gail, headed to the Hilton to shoot a few of the guys getting ready. Julie presented Chris with some new cufflinks.

We only had about 30 seconds on the tracks before we got kicked off by an old man telling us the police would come if we didn’t leave :)

Repeated photo from the sneak peek a few days ago…it deserves another round :)

Then we headed down to Tower Grove Park, as the ceremony and reception were both being held at the Piper Palm House.
The girls were looking pretty….

Brides-to-be…this is one of the reasons you want a 2nd photographer on your big day. Gail stayed back with the bride while I was up front shooting the processional. I just love this last-moment shot…I think it’s one of my favorites from the day!
After the ceremony they were so, so happy! Look at Chris wiping her tears…makes me teary just looking at it!

We took the horse-drawn carriage to a nearby spot for a few pics with the gorgeous early evening light.

At the end of the reception, Charles from Gebbs Wedding Films showed the couple their Same-Day Edit. This always seems to blow the crowd away. I kept teasing that the photographer never gets this kind of reaction :)

And off they ran, on to the after party!
Here are some of Julie and Chris’ wedding vendors from the day, who helped make it so special:

Katy and Tyler were married on the 1st of May and mother nature finally gave us a beautiful day! We started the day at their Tower Grove neighborhood home…
Katy’s dress was perfect on her!
The ceremony was held at the Piper Palm House…I love shooting ceremonies there! The light inside is perfect…

One of the handmade details…Katy, her bridesmaids, and her aunts put together all the flowers for the wedding. These pomander balls were so pretty!
Yep…they made the bouquets as well! Katy said she learned it all from YouTube. The joys of technology!

I haven’t had the pleasure yet of shooting a petal toss. I love them…so much in fact, that I had them at my own wedding :)
Fave shot of the day!

The reception was held at the Mad Art Gallery…my first time shooting there! Interesting fact…the venue is a renovated 1930′s police station…cells are still there! You’ll see some of those in a minute…
